Job Overview
The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for a part time Assistant Professor position in the area of Dynamics, Control, Design and Vibration, starting Fall semester 2021 . Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering obtained from reputable western university. Preferences will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellent skills in teaching both at the undergraduate level. Relevant industrial experience will be considered as an advantage. Successful candidates will be expected to teach traditional Solid Mechanics courses such as: Dynamics, Kinematics of Machinery, Machine Design, Dynamic Systems and Control, Mechatronics and Instrumentation lab. Experience in Finite Element Analysis and the ability to supervise related Engineering mechanical Lab courses will be of added value.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching one or two courses and assist in Lab projects
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering
Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in the field of mechanical engineering /Solid Mechanics
- Industrial experience in solid mechanics
Skills and Competencies Required
- CAD and Lab experience, Matlab/Simulink coding and simulation
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good classroom practice
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
