The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) College of Business and Management invites applications for a full time Lecturer position in human resources management or related area beginning in the Fall semester 2021. Candidates are expected to hold Ph.D. in human resources obtained from reputable western university. Preferences will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellent skills in teaching lectures. Relevant industry experience will be considered as an advantage. Successful candidates will be expected to teach human resource and management courses such as: Recruiting the Best Talent, Compensation, Benefits and HRIS Systems, Labor Relations and Ethical Issues in HRM, among others.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Teach courses in human resource management and other management courses.
- Plan lessons and assignments.
- Assess students’ progress by grading assignments, papers, exams, and other work.
- Advise students about which classes to take and how to achieve their goals.
- Work with colleagues to develop or modify the curriculum for a degree or certificate program involving a series of courses.
- Stay informed about changes and innovations in their field.
- Invigilating examinations.
- Attending faculty meetings.
- General administration.
- Writing research proposals, papers, and other publications.
- Supervising master students.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience required:
- PhD/ DBA degree in a related field, from a recognized institution (required)
- SHRM/CIPD academic/professional status (preferred)
- Experience teaching HRM programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Minimum of three years of experience in teaching and developing a higher education program in HRM or comparable experience in industry.
- Minimum ranking of Assistant Professor or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
